Carpentry In New York City

div align="center">

Carpentry in New York City; here is some detailed information on what it is like working this great city as a carpenter. Carpentry in the NYC is very well organized. New York city is probably one of the strongest union states in this country. Most of the businesses in the city support union carpenters.

I had some buddies that worked in the city they told me that the carpenters work seven-hour days in the city. That must be nice; Carpenters cover all the wok that has to deal with carpentry. From surveying the land to putting on the last doorknob the union carpenters do it all.

Currently In 2010

Right now the best project that all the unions are on and trying to complete is the Freedom Tower. It is scheduled to be complete by 2012. I love to be the carpenter shop steward on the job, or even the foreman. It is an honor to be able to work on the memorial for the World Trade Center.

Skilled carpenters help build and make New York City what it is today they have worked and help build the Holland Tunnel, World Trade Center, Macy's, Rockefeller Center, Empire State Building and much more.

Weather Conditions For Carpenters

Carpentry in New York City is not much different than New Jersey. It gets hot in the summer time for the carpenters that have to work outside. And it gets cold in the winter months when carpenters have to work outside. I have worked in the city few times and for some reason it does seem to be more colder there than in New Jersey.

If you like divers weather or diversity in general New York City is the place to be working.

Economy For Carpenters

The unemployment rate is fare compared to the rest of the country. But overall work is still slow even in New York. My guess is the average carpenters are working 5-6 months out of the year. That seems to be the average here in New Jersey. The formula on how to survive is very simple people do not put all your eggs in one basket diversify your talents and income and hang in there
