Weatherstripping Saves Energy

Weatherstripping saves energy for older and newer homes. Weatherstripping helps protect houses from the elements outside, such as hot and cold air. I remember back in the day my father use to install weatherstripping around the doors and the windows of the house in order to save on energy and keep the house warmer. For older homes that have gaps under or over the doors and windows you may want to use weatherstripping. I house was made in the early 1900’s and it needed it.

Just Do It

There is no shame to our game we were not rich then and we are not rich now you got to do what you got to do and I’m sure that most of you agree with me. So if you or someone you know has an older home protect it with stripping trust me it helps. Last year was a rough year in this house. And in order to save on the heating bill I turned down the heat. That wasn’t cool because I went to bed some nights cold and bundled up under the covers.

So I decided to turn the heat up a little bit and add weatherstripping around my front and back door. My wife put towels on the front door floor so the air wouldn’t get through to and I will tell you those little moves made a big difference. There are a lot of tricks that we have used to cut the cost on our heating bill and I will be sharing them with you later.

Installation Is Easy

The stripping is easy to install and only takes a few minutes I even had my wife demonstrate how to put it on as you can see in the above picture. I am not going to explain how to install it because I believe that a picture is worth a thousand words. So thank you for Carpentry web page and look forward for more great advice like this
