Carpentry Career

by James

Carpentry is not a career it's a job. There is no career progression unless you go into the office side of building - then you cease to be a carpenter.

There is of course a plus side to carpentry being 'just a job'. Your mistakes don't follow you around. No CV to build. Easy to move around. No interviews.

Job, Career, Profession

Carpentry like anything else is what you make of it. A job is something you do, a career is something you like, a profession is something you get paid to do. Carpentry is about working with your hands, at least that is the way it is for me.

Creating something from nothing using mind body and soul is the biggest joy to me. Carpentry takes many years to achieve the skills and mindset to create beautiful things in a safe and efficient manner.
