Carpentry Tips
YES! You are in the right place for Carpentry tips. What most people do not know is its not the work that beats carpenters up its the weather conditions. And I am going to give you some important tips on how to survive in extreme weather conditions.
Carpentry Tips for the Summer
When it gets hot in the summer time im talking 105 degress with humidity. This is dangerous temperature for carpenters to be working hard swing a hammer and picking up full sheets of plywood in but I have done it on several occasions and it is not easy but I survived and these are my tips for HOT SUMMERS.
1.Wear white or light colored clothing on a carpenter job.The reason being is it deflects the heat instead of bring it in.And it will keep you much cooler than wearing black.Wearing black will only absorb heat.
2.Protect your head Wear a small sweat band or rag on your head. This is like keeping a cool rag on your head while you work.Try not to have the direct sun beatin on your head wear a hard hat or a baseball cap.
3.Do like the athletes do stay hydrated in basic carpentry by drinking plenty of gatorade or powerade before and during your work day. This replenishes your body sweat glands.Which will give you more endurance to work. Sometimes water is not good enough in this weather and it may make you cramp up.
4.Bring some pain releivers such as asprin or advil.Reguardless on how I may prepare myself sometimes I get heat headaches and muscel cramps which makes the day really long and almost imposssible to work so it is a good idea to take them moderatly to help relieve the pain.Learn to beat the heat dont let the heat beat you.Ive been doing this ever since I was a carpenters apprentice.
Carpentry tips for the Winter
Anything colder than 32 degrees with the wind blowing and the chill factor is 10 is just to cold for me. I managed to stay really warm by wearing alot of layers, my infoumus Carheart coat,Carheart overalls, thensulated socks, and of coarse my ultimate weapon for the winter is HANDWARMERS AND FOOTWARMERS.
I love them and they are cheap I put the handwarmers on my wrist and the footwamers in my boots and I am fine for the rest of the day.
